As part of International Humanitarian Day, on 19th August , 2019, Rizvi Group’s Help Yourself Foundation and Rizvi College of Education jointly conducted a beach clean up drive at Juhu, Mumbai. 35 students along with the staff members cleaned around 1.5 km stretch along the Juhu beach. Using gloves and hand tools they collected more than 50 sacks of plastics and other waste materials, all washed ashore and accumulated along the beach front. The Mumbai Corporation provided a collection truck to carry the waste, which consisted mainly of plastic, from the beach. Student teachers actively participated in the cleaning and at the end of the event they decided to continue the efforts in the cleaning process through more visits.
