Global Education scenario is changing rapidly. There is a great demand for teachers who can keep pace with this changing scenario. In fact, what the schools need in the new millennium are teachers who can control and make things happen rather than just follow others. The twenty first century education seeks an evolution in the teaching earning strategies adopted in the classrooms which calls for higher level creative thinking skills and new set of technological skills among teachers. In addition to these competencies, the future teachers should be trained to possess the right attitudes and values befitting their profession.
This was precisely my aim when I started Rizvi Education Societys Rizvi College of Education (RCOED) with a vision of providing academic programs with international standards of teacher preparation. RCOED aims to develop a spirit of initiative in its student teachers through the distinctive enactment of various course curriculum offered in the program. Through appropriate theory practice integration, the college strives to develop the right knowledge, skills and attitudes in the student teachers. The system of training education practiced by the college ensures that it develops teachers who can be mentors to their students in all respects. Through the program offered, the college focuses on development of teaching skills and research skills relevant to the national and international trends and at the same time preservation of the national identity and cultural diversity.
