“Innovative Methods of Teaching – IMT: An Inter-Collegiate Competition.”
With the advent of Revised Bloom’s taxonomy for educational objectives today utmost stress is laid upon the analytical, evaluative and creative aspects in the process of teaching and learning. 21st Century demands that educator be synonymous to Innovators who try new ways of doing things in their learning environments. Being innovative in teaching is about looking beyond what we currently do well, identifying the great ideas of tomorrow and putting them into practice.

Thus in 2015 Rizvi College of Education began an endeavor to build a platform for budding teachers such that they can show their talent in using their best strategies in teaching any content from their teaching method. Thus the college began with the, “Innovative Methods of Teaching – IMT: An Inter-Collegiate Competition.”

IMT encourages Student-teachers from B.Ed. colleges across the city to show their talent, creativity and inventiveness to teach any topic from their teaching method.

This Competition strives to enables pupil aspiring teachers to analyze the teaching process and evaluate the learning achieved through the innovative teaching adopted. Thereby, enhancing their meta-cognitive abilities too. The competition was conducted in the year 2015 and 2016 and is judged by principals/heads of various schools in Mumbai.
