Energy plays a vital role in the effective functioning of the college. Energy is synonyms with good lifestyle. However India’s energy requirement is met through electricity generation using thermal power plants. Use of fossil fuels which leads to environmental pollution. Today we need to adopt sustainable practices and thus we need to focus on effective energy management practices. In addition, educational institutions have to evolve programs and policies to ensure sustainable practices are adopted by educating employees and students about environmental problems and ways to respond to these challenges. As a teacher training college we can play a significant role in creating awareness amongst teachers and thereby the masses about Energy Management. This practice would provide a direction to the nation builders about ways of energy cost reduction.
